A short description of the Drop in classes at the Shala

 Yoga Classes are drop in and 75 /90*minutes long

Feel free to come to any of them without prior notice 5-15 min. before class.

We offer many different teaching styles (see the class names) and 3 Levels (color). 

Level 1 :

A beginner friendly class, No previous Yoga experience needed!
It will strengthen your body and mind and leave you feeling refreshed and calm.

Level 1 - 2 :

Ready for the next level, you are willing to flow and sweat and know the basics of Surya Namaskars and classic Yogaasanas.
Get ready to be challenged and nevertheless feel refreshed after class!

Level 2 :

An upbeat, fun flow class, challenging your strength, endurance and will power!
Although this classe offers modifications and variations you will still want to have a solid base, be very familiar with classic Yogaasana and be
willing to test your limit. Bring your sense of humour and joy into this class!

Not suitable for beginners or pregnant women.

Acro Yoga :  
Playful Yoga - Acrobatics ..  see the german only :( description.

Aerial Yoga :
Hanging out & releasing in the hammock, Vinyasa Style Aerial Yoga.

Classic : 
All Asanas are practiced one after the other, without a specific transition inbetween.
Therefore the class may be slower and easier to follow.

Downtempo : 
A slower paced class designed to wind down physically and mentally.
Emphasis is placed on yin, slow Sunsalutations, the use of props, pranayama and
meditation techniques.

Jivamukti Yoga : 
A typical Jivamukti Yoga class incorporates chanting, breath awareness, flowing vinyasa sequences,
alignment exploration, hands-on assistance, relaxation and meditation. The student works at his/her own pace,
following verbal as well as hands-on guidance. In this medium level class asana options will be provided for all
levels of practitioners. It has a weekly focus on asana groups as well as a monthly background topic.
Thus, besides the benefits of a balanced physical practice, it offers insight to classical yoga teachings
that might be relevant to one’s life on and off the mat. 

Open : 
Everything's possible. The style depends on the teacher, the day, who's coming, the weather ... 
The class may have a special focus, andasanas may be linked into series.

Prenatal Yoga:
A sweet flowing class with asanas specifically adapted for pregnancy. Suitable from
the beginning of your pregnancy right up unitl birth.

Vinyasa : 
translates as 'to place / move - in a special / particular way'. I.e. interweaving postures,
breath and movement, creating a seamless flow throughout practice.

Vinyasa Flow : 
as above including elements from Prana Flow® Yoga.

Tantra Flow :
Tantra flow unites Tantra yoga with Vinyasa. 
Statically held positions are combined with flowing transitions to perfectly prepare you
for Pranayama and meditation at the end of the class.
You will feel in beautiful harmony after this class.

Yin Yoga : 
Yin is slow and still,  practised by relaxing muscular effort and holding postures for a
longer period of time. See here
