Homepage:
Lucas is working full time on a new homepage..... you should be able to see most things now but needs another full week
to be up and running perfectly.... We hope it will be to your liking. Our homepage is as yoga oriented as possible - quiet and aims to calm the mind while viewing....
hence the quiet coloring scheme, no flashing distractive pop up advertisements . but all the necessary information to make your viewing
easy and uncomplicated. Helpful suggestions welcome.

Important!!!!!................IF you come to the yin on Sundays please bring and wear layers! The room is heated but as we sit all class you will feel cooler faster. Add a blanket on top of your
mat for added warmth, and cover yourself with a blanket. Wear socks and long sleeve tops! And sometimes we will be downstairs- the room holds the heat better there as it is smaller.
Andy has kindly made sure the heaters are hot so you should be warm .....
Heating: Ive been very conscious that the rooms are warm enough to practise. Naturally as the heaters can be manually manipulated it
means that they may be turned on and off at times when i am unable to adjust again...It is helpful that if you practise next to a heater, please realise it needs to be on for everyone, therefore pls do not turn it off.
Heating is always a theme as the buildings insulation is poor but we have some options we are looking into. Perhaps you have noted the infrarot heaters in the changerooms upstairs??????
Practise:
What i have noted is that for some, the room is too hot, for others too cold. As teachers naturally we cannot fullfill both of these needs at the same time.
As part of our yoga practise is it wise to note the times (which when you start to listen in- will be many many times)- when
we are not happy or satisfied with the conditions as they are and show themselves to be in the present moment (and this applies to everything). And often our reaction is either (1) to try to change the current situation (2) to get away from the situation ,or (3) to accept the
current situation as it is.
A very helpful mindfulness meditation practise (which stems from the Buddhist tradition) is to simply start noting in its most basic form what comes up in the present moment. As we note, for example temperature as being `cold´, or
a part of our body that is currently highlighed to be `restricted or tingling´, or a noise to be simply `sound´, or an emtion as `anger´, the effect is quite liberating. We acknowledge that it is happening (ie we are not trying to change or get away from it), so there
is already a level of acceptable and embrace. This acknowledgement can radically change how we then emotionally react to the situation because we have taken a moment to pause. By pausing, we have given ourselves TIME to CHOOSE how
we will respond next. How we do respond will either cause more suffering (to ourselves or/and others) or will liberate us.
